Switching to FileMaker Pro 7 From Microsoft Access, 4D or Microsoft SQL Server

This is a new and exciting area of our site. Here you will find white papers, testimonials and advice from our staff and from other developers out there who have become disenchanted with (or have reached the limits of) their current database development environment and how they have successfully, painlessly and happily switched to FileMaker Pro 7 (v7).

Hopefully, once you have weighed all the pros and cons, you will switch to FileMaker Pro 7, too!

NOTE: It is not our intention that this portion of our site become an "other application" (4D, and so on)-bashing site. We simply are very excited about the FileMaker 7 product line and we want to assist those who may have come to the limits of their current database application to successfully migrate to something that is easier to use, is more powerful and, we feel, has longer legs...FileMaker Pro 7! Hopefully you will find that the opinions and comparisons shown here are as fair and unbiased as they can be.

Why Switch?

Our take: The FileMaker 7 product line is, simply put, easier, faster, more powerful, more intuitive, more external-application-friendly, more Web-enable-able and more cost-effective than anything else out there. But don't just take our word for it, read on to the next section to hear from those who have successfully switched to v7.
